This Eagles superfan's tailgating solution is truly genius

The Eagles open the 2020 regular season on Sunday against Washington, a day that in a normal year would see huge throngs of football fans, dressed in green, shouting about touchdowns throughout the city.

The crowds will be considerably more condensed this season, amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but one Eagles fan is still trying to channel that glorious tailgate spirit - safely.

Rocco Galleli, owner of Rhythm & Reels drive-in theater on Black Horse Pike in Williamstown, New Jersey, is trying to organize a season's worth of socially distanced Eagles tailgates at the theater, starting with the Birds' Week 1 matchup against Washington.

Here's the rundown of the Rhythm & Reels setup for the Eagles' first game of the season, which according to TMZ can accomodate 150 vehicles:

  • A DJ, live on stage during pregame festivities, starting at 9 A.M.
  • The Eagles game shown on a 40-foot screen LIVE ON STAGE AND NFL GAME SHOWN ON A 40' LED SCREEN!
  • BYOB and BYO food, or order food on-site at the venue
  • Bathrooms available on-site at the venue

There's also a VIP area which includes a private, open air space for up to eight people, and catering.

Here's a look at the layout:

Honestly? That doesn't sound bad at all. It kind of sounds... great.

Galleli has already created listings on Eventbrite for the season's other 15 games, and if the first game goes well he plans on doing this every game day, according to TMZ.

You've gotta admit, Eagles fans are crafty.
