Eagles vs. Titans live: Highlights, analysis from NFL preseason game

Share

10:45 p.m.: This game is about to end and I’m gonna run down to make it to Doug Pederson’s press conference. I can’t imagine anyone is still reading this. If you are, you’re real sickos.

10:40 p.m.: Ugly.

10:26 p.m.: Clayton Thorson is looking baaaadd. He's thrown three balls and two of them were awful. One went into the ground and one was an air-mailed INT.

10:20 p.m.: This time Jeremiah McKinnon was beaten for a touchdown. The cornerbacks after the top three tonight haven’t been great.

On the extra point, Treyvon Hester blocked it! We last saw that on the double-doink in Chicago.

10:12 p.m.: Early in the fourth quarter, fifth-round pick Clayton Thorson is in the game. He's had a rough training camp, but maybe some game action will do him good.

Cody Kessler's final line: 3/6, 12 yards.

10:06 p.m.: Josh Hawkins just got beat for a 25-yard touchdown. He has had a rough night and a rough training camp.

10:05 p.m.: We are in the fourth quarter. And now we’re up to 20 penalties in this game.

9:59 p.m.: I'm all for cutting down these preseason games.

9:36 p.m.: Daeshon Hall, who had a shoulder injury earlier in the game, just had a sack and a forced fumble on third down. He’s had a nice night. With Joe Ostman’s injury, there might be some opportunity for him to make the roster. He’s one to keep an eye on.

9:18 p.m.: Nate Sudfeld hurt his left wrist late in the first half and left the sideline in an aircast. This is not good.

9:01 p.m.: Josh Adams just fumbled the ball. Not good. He doesn’t have a great shot to make this roster to begin with and fumbles like that won’t help.

Injury update: Daeshon Hall (shoulder) is questionable to return. He had a few nice rushes in the first half.

8:56 p.m.: The Titans are back in the lead, not that it really matters. L.J. Fort was beaten on the tail end of the long drive on a 23-yard touchdown. He just got behind in coverage. Rough series for Josh Hawkins. He was called for a 15-yard penalty and was nearly beaten on a long touchdown, but the ball was dropped in the end zone. Almost halftime.

Titans 14, Eagles 10

8:43 p.m.: The Eagles’ offense stalled on their drive after the touchdown but JJ Arcega-Whiteside had a nice catch on third down coming back to the ball. It was a nice grab.

Meanwhile, Matt Pryor continues to struggle. He picked up another penalty and looked lost on a screen play.

Charles Johnson dropped a ball, but then made a nice tackle on the punt as a gunner. That last receiver will need to play special teams.

8:29 p.m.: There’s the Studfeld. The Eagles’ backup quarterback threw a beautiful deep ball to Marken Michel for a 75-yard touchdown. It didn’t even look like Sudfeld really stepped into the throw but he put it in Michel’s arms perfectly in stride. Michel has a chance at the roster and Sudfeld definitely throws a pretty deep ball.

And on the previous play, Sudfeld did a great job of avoiding pressure and the sack.

Eagles 10, Titans 6

8:23 p.m.: Cancel the season. They stink. The Titans just drove for a touchdown to take the lead.

In all seriousness, it was a rough series for Tre Sullivan. He had a bad angle on the longest play of the drive and then literally bounced off a runner on the next play.

The Eagles also had an injury on that drive. Hassan Ridgeway went down on the 37-yard run and went into the blue medical tent.

Titans 6, Eagles 3

8:13 p.m.: The boring first quarter is over. The only big thing to note is that Dallas Goedert has three catches for 50 yards. Sudfeld has made some throws and missed some. Josh Sweat seems to be playing well.

After 1: Eagles 3, Titans 0

8:09 p.m.: Points! Jake Elliott hit a 53-yarder to give the Birds a 3-0 lead.

On that last drive, Nate Sudfeld was sacked on third down. The sack came from a corner blitz that might have been Miles Sanders’ responsibility. Hard to tell.

8 p.m.: It looks like the night is already over for Sidney Jones, Rasul Douglas and Avonte Maddox. They weren’t out there for the second defensive series. With three cornerbacks already injured, it’s not worth getting them hurt, I suppose. The defense did get a 3-and-out and Daeshon Hall nearly got a sack.

7:57 p.m.: Not a great second offensive series from the Eagles. The highlight was a Dallas Goedert 24-yard catch. If you consider him a starter, he’s one of just three playing tonight.

This was bad, though.

7:50 p.m.: Two good plays from Andrew Sendejo on the first defensive series. He had a nice run stuff and then a PBU on fourth down. He’s been making plays all training camp. There was a time we thought he might be a cut to save a comp pick, but it looks like he deserves a roster spot.

7:45 p.m.: The Eagles came out in nickel defense with Rasul Douglas and Sidney Jones as their outside corners. Avonte Maddox was the nickel CB. Nate Gerry and Zach Brown were the linebackers and L.J. Fort came on as the third linebacker.

Vinny Curry, Malik Jackson, Hassan Ridgeway, Josh Sweat are the starters on the line. Andrew Sendejo and Blake Countess are the starting safeties.

7:39 p.m.: Nate Sudfeld juuuuust missed connecting with JJ Arcega-Whiteside on a deep pass. That would have been a spectacular catch. It has been a quiet training camp for JJAW, so that would have been nice.

The Eagles went 3-and-out.

7:03 p.m.: Expect to see a lot of Nate Sudfeld over the next four games. He led the Eagles on the field tonight.

6:56 p.m.: The following players will not play tonight. Some are injured, some are healthy scratches.

Carson Wentz, Alshon Jeffery, DeSean Jackson, Mack Hollins, Darren Sproles, Corey Clement, Boston Scott, Shelton Gibson, Lane Johnson, Isaac Seumalo, Jason Peters, Brandon Brooks, Fletcher Cox, Nigel Bradham, Brandon Graham, Tim Jernigan, Derek Barnett.

6:48 p.m.: A new era at running back.

3:54 p.m.: I have arrived to Lincoln Financial Field. Saw just a few diehard tailgaters in the lot.

There are no logos on the field. They’ll save them for the regular season.

Saw something funny just outside the stadium. Here for his first game as an Eagle, Malik Jackson was getting directions to the players’ entrance.
