Eagles-Washington line shrinks quickly after postponement

This Eagles-Washington game is a tough one to bet on.

The line on this huge matchup between 6-7 teams has been moving rapidly all week with the COVID-19 outbreak in Washington and after the NFL postponed the game until Tuesday it shrank quickly.

With the number of COVID cases over 20 in Washington on Friday, the Eagles were up to 12.5-point favorites, according to PointsBet.

As of Saturday morning, the line re-appeared and they are down to 7.5-point favorites.

So the NFL’s decision to postpone the game will have a major impact on betters. It was worth a five-point line swing.

The Eagles began the week as a 3-point favorite and that line had been rising until the game was postponed.

NBC Sports Philadelphia betting expert Brad Feinberg said earlier in the week that this was a game he’d stay away from until learning more information. His explanation was that these two teams are pretty even and he felt comfortable with the Eagles until the line began rising to 6.5, 7 points.

Feinberg explained that his goal is to gather as much information as possible before placing a bet and information about this game is hard to find because of the COVID unknowns.

As news about Washington players returning begins to come in over the next few days, it’ll be fascinating to see if the line continues to shrink.
