One Giants player isn't buying Eagles tank job

The Eagles’ 20-14 loss last night cost the Giants a chance to win the NFC East, and some of their players, coaches and fans let the world know they weren’t very happy about it.

But one Giants player isn’t playing the blame game.

Safety James Bradberry spoke this morning about the Eagles’ performance Sunday night.

"Watching the whole game, I wasn't really questioning [Doug Pederson's] decisions," said Bradberry. "I was impressed with how well the Eagles defense was playing. Because the game was real close, they weren't playing for anything, and I've been in that situation before, so I know how things can be. I was glad they were playing hard."

Bradberry knows of which he speaks.

This is his fifth year in the league, and his first with the Giants. He spent four years with the Carolina Panthers, and in three of them, the Panthers did not make the postseason.

As far as the Eagles’ defense, while the Washington offense won’t remind anyone of the Chiefs, the Eagles held the Football Team to 248 total yards, the second-lowest they’ve allowed this season. They also forced two turnovers and three 3-and-outs.

This was a defense playing without two starters on the defensive line, both starting corners, and both starting safeties. They allowed 145 net passing yards.

Those are hardly characteristics of a defense trying to lose a game.

Say what you will about Doug Pederson’s decision regarding Jalen Hurts and Nate Sudfeld, but the D came to play.
