Lane Johnson missed a third straight day of practice Tuesday with a lower-body injury. Johnson initially was injured on Friday. The team was off on Saturday and he hasn’t practiced Sunday, Monday or Tuesday.
Johnson is considered day-to-day.
With Johnson out, Matt Pryor continued to take the 1st-team reps at right tackle ahead of Auburn rookie Jack Driscoll.
So far, Pryor has been the top backup at both right guard and right tackle.
Meanwhile, left tackle Andre Dillard, who left practice early Sunday with an upper-body injury and missed Monday’s session, returned to work for Tuesday’s practice session, which was a light walkthrough.
Also, the last two remaining players who missed time over the weekend with an undisclosed “illness” - rookie receiver John Hightower and defensive tackle Anthony Rush - returned to practice. Neither had practiced since last Friday.
All nine Eagles players who were listed with “illnesses” from Friday to Monday - which coincided with a rash of false positive COVID tests from the New Jersey lab that processes the Eagles’ testing - have returned.
Of those players, Deontay Burnett, Rasul Douglas, Shareef Miller and Jalen Reagor missed practice Friday, Corey Clement, Vinny Curry and Hassan Ridgeway missed Sunday and Hightower and Rush missed both Sunday and Monday. The Eagles were off Saturday.
Meanwhile, defensive end Genard Avery was added to the injury report with an undisclosed illness. It was not known whether his illness was related to COVID testing.
Irregularities in BioReference’s NFL testing that were first reported on Sunday resulted in dozens of false positive tests on about a dozen teams over the weekend. Even though those players were suspected to be fine, they were held out of practice until two additional tests came back negative.
The Eagles haven’t commented on whether their line players who quickly returned from their undisclosed illness were victims of the rash of false positives.
Also still out for the Eagles is cornerback Sidney Jones (lower body), who hasn’t practiced since last Tuesday.
Tight end Josh Perkins (upper body) is out “indefinitely,” running back Miles Sanders (lower body), defensive end Derek Barnett (ankle) and receiver Rob Davis (lower body) are “week-to-week” and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave (upper body) is out for “multiple weeks.”
Receiver Rob Davis (lower body) is also week-to-week.
