Eagles inactives: Jordan Mailata makes his return vs. Panthers

Share

Jordan Mailata is officially active and will make his return against the Panthers after missing a couple games with a knee injury.

Mailata sprained his right MCL during practice on Sept. 23 and missed the Cowboys game and the Chiefs game.

While Mailata is back, the Eagles are still without Lane Johnson, who was a last-minute scratch last week because of a personal matter. Johnson went to Oklahoma last week and returned to Philadelphia on Wednesday, but he didn’t practice all week and was ruled out by Nick Sirianni on Friday.

Because of Johnson’s absence and because Andre Dillard has played well at left tackle, expect to see Dillard stay on the left side of the line and Mailata fill in at right tackle.

The likely line for Sunday is (left to right): Dillard, Landon Dickerson, Jason Kelce, Jack Driscoll, Mailata.

The biggest inactive news comes from the Panthers: RB Christian McCaffrey is inactive with a hamstring injury.

Here’s a look at the Eagles’ inactives for Sunday:

  • OT Lane Johnson
  • QB Gardner Minshew
  • DT Marlon Tuipulotu
  • CB Mack McCain
  • OL Jack Anderson

With guard Sua Opeta on the COVID-19 list, the Eagles elevated offensive tackle Le’Raven Clark for this game and he is active. Clark is a veteran with 47 games and 15 starts in his career. This will be his Eagles debut.
