The Eagles have honored the late Kobe Bryant with a mural/memorial wall at the NovaCare Complex.
Alshon Jeffery shared the new wall on his Instagram account (h/t Bleeding Green Nation).
Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven others died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California, in January. Bryant was a Philly native and big Eagles fan. The Eagles and the entire sports world were devastated by his death.
Back in December 2017, Bryant spoke to the Eagles while they were practicing in Orange County before playing the Rams. That meant a lot to the Eagles and I’ve never seen so many professional athletes so in awe of someone.
If you couldn’t read it from the video, here are Kobe’s 10 rules as listed on the wall at the NovaCare Complex:
1. GET BETTER EVERY SINGLE DAY
2. PROVE THEM WRONG
3. WORK ON YOUR WEAKNESSES
4. EXECUTE WHAT YOU PRACTICED
5. LEARN FROM GREATNESS
6. LEARN FROM WINS & LOSSES
7. PRACTICE MINDFULNESS
8. BE AMBITIOUS
9. #BELIEVE IN YOUR TEAM
10. LEARN STORYTELLING
The mural shows Bryant in his Lower Merion High School jersey, Lakers jersey and one photo of him in an Eagles jersey.
On the date of his death, the Eagles released the following statement:
“The Eagles are shocked and saddened to learn of the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna. He was a champion for the ages, a fearless competitor, and an outstanding ambassador for the city. Our hearts go out to all of today’s victims and their families.”
