Audio of Jeff Lurie firing Doug Pederson would have been more interesting to listen to, but the Eagles didn’t release that one.

So we all have to settle for listening to Lurie offer Nick Sirianni Pederson’s job.

Not as juicy but still interesting.

The Eagles on Sunday tweeted out audio of Lurie’s conversation on Thursday offering Sirianni the team’s head coaching job.

“‘I’ve got kind of a big question for you,” Lurie says. “How would you like to be head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles?”

Sirianni said yes.

“Man, I am so excited,” the former Colts offensive coordinator replies as applause from Eagles officials can be heard in the background.

“Thank you, everybody,” Sirianni said. “I can’t wait to get to work with you guys. I couldn’t be more happy to be a part of that organization.”

Lurie then replies: “We are so incredibly excited for the coach you are and the coach you can become and everything you bring to the best fan base in America. We had really good candidates. You stood out in so many ways, and I can’t wait for you to join all of us and reach for more Lombardi trophies, because that’s what we’re going to do.”
