It sounds like Nick Foles could be on the move again

It sounds like Nick Foles could be on the move again and it’s possible the Eagles legend could end up back with a guy who helped him reach the ultimate peak.

Here’s the latest on Monday afternoon:

Earlier in the day, it seemed like the Bears were going hard after Teddy Bridgewater, but according to various reports, that has cooled off. And now they might have their sights set on Foles.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, the Bears are also interested in Andy Dalton.

If Foles were to end up in Chicago, he would be reunited with John DeFilippo. The Bears hired Flip this offseason to be their quarterbacks coach, the same position he held with the Eagles in 2017, when Foles became the MVP of Super Bowl LII.

The Eagles don’t have the Bears on their schedule in 2020 but if Foles gets back in the NFC with a contender, there’s a chance the Eagles could see him in the playoffs. Imagine a Nick Foles vs. Carson Wentz playoff showdown.

The Jaguars are going forward with second-year quarterback Gardner Minshew so it would make plenty of sense for them to be open to trading Foles. After all, he’s their backup a year after they signed him to a four-year, $88 million deal.

But it seems like the Jaguars aren’t much interested in trading him right now … or they’re hoping to drive up the return price.

Teams have approached Jacksonville about Nick Foles for weeks. To date Jacksonville has been unwilling to trade him. It still feels that way. But never know what happens if another team gets aggressive.

It makes sense for the Bears to be in on the quarterback market this offseason because Mitchell Trubisky certainly hasn’t lived up to his status as the No. 2 pick in the 2017 draft. Now three years into his career, he still hasn’t been very good.

And the last time the Bears saw Foles, he was on the winning end of the Double-Doink game at Soldier Field in the 2018 playoffs. Foles wasn’t great in that game — 25/40, 266 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs — but the Eagles came out on top. It was his fourth playoff win with the Eagles in two years.

But it was also Foles’ last win. He lost all four of his starts with the Jaguars in 2019.
