Ranking Eagles' opponents by their 2020 schedule releases

NFL teams across the league have really elevated their game when it comes to releasing season schedules. Some made risks that paid off, others utilized their time to put a spotlight on the incredible front line workers … and let’s just say those who didn't fall under either category probably would’ve been better off releasing a simple graphic.

We took a look at all of the opposing teams the Eagles will face in 2020 and just how they announced they were playing them. Let’s just say, things were all over the place.

So, here they are — ranked from the absolute worst to the very best, by team.

13. Week 13, Green Bay Packers

You’re telling me the city of cheeseheads didn’t know to put cheese … on a Philly cheesesteak? This has to be a troll job, it’s the only logical scenario. This looks like a frozen dinner you would buy in Wisconsin in an attempt to replicate the delicacy of this staple dish.

12. Week 11, Cleveland Browns

There’s not much to go off of, just this graphic. Zero points for creativity, but it’s still better than that sorry excuse for a cheesesteak. Yes, I’m still fed up about it.

11. Week 2, Los Angeles Rams

The Rams did some revamping to their look during the offseason, so expectations should have been a little higher with this one. Considering these videos are supposed to hype up fans for the season … it definitely fell short.

10. Week 5, Pittsburgh Steelers

If you close your eyes and listen to the the in-game highlights, it may put a smile on your face — who doesn’t love the sweet sounds of football? Though, it’s nothing special visually.

9. Week 4, San Francisco 49ers

If you’ve never seen the show “West World,” chances are, you were extremely confused by their schedule release video. If it wasn’t for the extremely obvious Liberty Bell, we’d be lost. I can guarantee every single person scrolled through the comments to see the written schedule somewhere.

8. Weeks 1 and 17, Washington Redskins

When jotting down the initial notes to this ranking, the first and only thing I wrote for the Redskins was, “Eh.” Upon further review, it still remains eh. At least the Eagles will be starting and ending their season with dubs.

7. Week 15, Arizona Cardinals

After announcing their schedule via graphic — they decided to do a complete thread breaking down each week with a gif. For Philadelphia, they went with, “It’s Always Sunny.” … original.

6. Weeks 7 and 10, New York Giants

The Giants did a fun job incorporating fans and celebrities into their reveal, but it turned into a roast both times the Eagles were mentioned. From saying they enjoy seeing the sad faces of Eagles fans, to calling MetLife Stadium a no fly zone, it’s safe to say the rivalry is strong as ever. That’s okay, considering they haven’t beaten us since 2016. Talk the talk.

5. Weeks 8 and 16, Dallas Cowboys

Count this as the one and only time you’ll see Dallas in a top-five rankings — and this is solely due to the fact they used this release as an opportunity to thank the front line and essential workers.

4. Week 14, New Orleans Saints

New Orleans is one of the more difficult cities to go in and play — we know first hand with that, but they truly put things into perspective with this video leading up to their release. Everything going on right now is much bigger than a game, and it’s up to every one of us to do our part to flatten the curve, social distance and share their appreciation for healthcare workers.

3. Week 12, Seattle Seahawks

While this wasn’t considered their official release, it was easily some of the best content of the night. Gifting some of the fearless heroes of the front line season tickets for the 2020 season was a wonderful way to share their thanks. Since the Eagles would be off to Seattle for this Monday Night Football matchup — they’d get to watch the most exciting team in the league. That’s a win-win.

2. Week 6, Baltimore Ravens

This is definitely one of the more fun posts across the entire league, tying in some of the most classic television game shows. The Eagles were given the classic Jeopardy! … a game show that Philadelphia sports have made many appearances on in the past.

1. Week 3, Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals created such a fun concept video featured around their newest addition and first overall draft pick, Joe Burrow. One of the most iconic shots in sports over this past year, was of him celebrating with a cigar after Louisiana State won a National Championship title. It's also great that they were able to make a little fun of last year's video, which was not well-received ... at all.
