Ranking Philadelphia's VIPs (very important pups)
It feels like morale in the sports world has been low lately — which is understandable, considering it’s May and everyone should be enjoying their free time watching playoff basketball/hockey or soaking up some baseball at Citizens Bank Park.
I got to thinking — what’s one thing that always puts a smile on someone’s face? Dogs. So without further ado, here’s Philadelphia’s top VIPs (very important pups).

6. Roomba Thybulle
This starter pet is even better than a plant — why? Because it still cleans up the floors. Thybulle has been quarantined with him, himself and this Roomba for weeks now, so they must’ve developed a special friendship by now. He wasn't sure what to name it at first, but considering it's been a while, hopefully he decided on one.
Rating: 10/10 — Would also recommend getting a roomba of your own.
5. Theo Haseley
Is this a puppy or a ball of fluff? I never met a fluffy dog I didn’t like … and even though I have not personally met Mr. Theodore, he’s already a winner in my book.
Rating: 15/10 — urge to pet is strong, but will wait until social distancing is over.
4. Mama Henley, Jersey and Riggs Wentz
What’s better than one dog? Three dogs. They now have a big job to do as guardians of Hadley, the newest addition to the Wentz family. What are the odds this quarterback has three special wide receivers under the same roof? Very likely.
Rating: 33/10 — would sneak them extra treats because they deserve it.
3. Willy from Philly and Roxy Elliott
Willy from Philly has had quite a year — from watching his humans tie the knot, to getting a new sister — it’s been a thrilling trip around the sun. Roxy may be new to the Elliott family, but the two combined have the power to melt your heart. Heckin’ cute from tail to snoot — especially with these bananas.
2. Rookie Hoskins
Rookie is an internet sensation, so he fits right in with this generation of cool kids — but still stands out. Pretty sure he would be a TikTok star overnight. Not to mention, the pup claimed the entire mini field of dreams at Citizens Bank Park … and since no one is going to tell him no, might as well embrace the chaotic energy.
1. Harvey and Charlie Giroux
The most dynamic duo across the NHL is none other than Harvey and Charlie — Claude Giroux’s dogs. These pups are teddy bears come to life and know how to represent their favorite team in Philadelphia. The two have even been named “Best dog,” in the league, so technically, they’re award-winners. Talk about best in show.
Oh, and can the Flyers get a team dog soon?
