Flyers, Sixers receive promising news as New Jersey allows pro sports to restart

It looks like there is good news for the Flyers and Sixers.

Early Tuesday morning, Phil Murphy, New Jersey’s governor, gave a promising announcement regarding sports in the state.

Professional sports teams in NJ may return to training and even competition — if their leagues choose to move in that direction. We have been in constant discussions with teams about necessary protocols to protect the health and safety of players, coaches, and personnel.

While both the NBA and NHL have slowly been making progress to figure out how their respective seasons can proceed, until this point in time, the Flyers and Sixers were at a standstill when it came to where they would be able to train — considering their facilities are located in New Jersey.

While there are still many steps that need to be set in place before any season can resume, it seems like things are heading in the right direction.

While the safety of others remains the highest priority during this time of COVID-19, it’s promising to know players will be allowed to return to their facilities — while following league and team guidelines, of course.
