Here are the new critical dates on the 2021 NHL calendar:
Jan. 3 — Training camp
Jan. 13 — Regular season begins
April 12 — NHL trade deadline

May 11 — Stanley Cup Playoffs begin
July 21 — NHL expansion draft
July 23-24 — NHL entry draft
July 28 — NHL free agency begins
October — 2021-22 regular season begins
