After taking Cutter Gauthier at No. 5 overall out of the USNTDP, the Flyers tapped into the program again to begin their work on Day 2 of the 2022 NHL draft.

The club selected right winger Devin Kaplan in the third round Friday with the 69th overall pick at Montreal's Bell Centre.

In 2021-22, the Bridgewater, New Jersey native recorded 38 points (13 goals, 25 assists) and a plus-43 mark through 53 games for the U.S. national team development program under-18 squad.

Kaplan came up with the North Jersey Avalanche.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pounder is headed to Boston University in 2022-23. Kaplan, who grew up a Rangers fan, was the 61st-ranked North American skater by NHL Central Scouting. Gauthier, Kaplan's USNTDP teammate who the Flyers drafted Thursday night, is going to Boston College.

Kaplan was the Flyers' first pick Friday. The club did not have a selection in the second round because of the Shayne Gostisbehere trade last summer.
