Blake Steigauf experiences unforgettable moment with Flyers

Share

Fearlessly and courageously, the Flyers hit the ice Friday night.

They were led by Blake Steigauf.

A 15-year-old who was diagnosed with cancer last April, Steigauf more than delivered on his one-day contract with the Flyers.

After meeting his new team, touring the practice facility and signing his deal Thursday (see story), Steigauf took the Wells Fargo Center ice Friday night before the Flyers' game against the Rangers.

Steigauf got the rookie treatment from the boys with a solo lap.

Through Make-A-Wish Philadelphia, Steigauf, a native of Lititz, Pennsylvania, and sophomore at Manheim Central High School, suited up for the Flyers.

And they followed his lead.
