The Flyers have a blast with May the 4th on social media

It’s a tradition unlike any other to the point where it has become a worldwide holiday — that’s right, May the 4th.

Star Wars fans put their differences aside to enjoy a full day of bliss, where everyone around the globe talks about one of the most successful franchises in cinematic history.

The Flyers (and Gritty, of course) had to join in on all of the festivities. The day started with the team’s social media sharing a message about the force with baby Yoda.

Soon after, Gritty took to Twitter to do his best impression of both a Jedi and Yoda.

No mascot has ever written such a masterpiece — truly, it's poetry.

“Me, it.” - Gritty

This was also a tease of the content we would have seen back in March during the Star Wars theme night. Sadly, since the season was put on pause, the game never happened … and the content will be lost in the galaxy forever.

The organization also teamed up with Brûlée Catering to send themed cupcakes to the front line workers at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

You can’t help but notice the awesome crossover shirt Ian Laperrière is wearing in the video of the Flyers logo and Millennium Falcon.

Now, I may be President of the Gritty Committee — but I definitely have room for two crazy creatures in my life … the other being baby Yoda.

This was something that simply needed to be shared with the universe, you're welcome.

May the fourth be with you!
