On Tuesday night, after fans beautifully showed their support for Oskar Lindblom, the team's 23-year-old forward who has been diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, Flyers captain Claude Giroux said it best.

“I’ve been here for 11, 12 years now and kind of know the fans," Giroux said. "They’re great fans, they support their players.

“It’s not only us in the locker room that’s behind him and the coaches, it’s the whole city.”

Lindblom, who was at the Wells Fargo Center for Tuesday night's 4-1 win over the Ducks, has been touched by all the support and sent a message of gratitude in an Instagram post Thursday.

The Flyers are wearing special "Oskar Strong" shirts Thursday night and you can bet you'll see them worn throughout the season.

The shirts can be purchased at BiscuitTees.com, with all proceeds benefiting the NHL's "Hockey Fights Cancer" initiative.

Flyers Charities are also selling light purple "Oskar Strong" shirts, with all proceeds benefiting Ewing’s sarcoma research at the Sarcoma Foundation of America.
