The Flyers on Thursday officially promoted Alyn McCauley to director of player personnel and Tom Minton to director of hockey operations.

McCauley, who played parts of nine seasons in the NHL, had served the Flyers as a pro scout over the last four seasons. The 44-year-old came to the organization in July 2017 from the Kings. He was on Los Angeles' scouting staff when the club won the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014.

Minton, a local product who graduated from St. Joe's, was previously director of hockey information and video, a role he had held since the 2019-20 season. The 32-year-old was with the Wild for four seasons prior to joining the Flyers. While at St. Joe's, Minton started his experience with the Flyers as a hockey operations intern.

"We've invested a lot of money in every area, including player development, in the last few months," Flyers general manager Chuck Fletcher said last Wednesday. "We're doubling the size of our analytics department, we just named Alyn McCauley director of player personnel, we've added to our pro staff, we've added to our amateur staff, we overhauled our strength and conditioning department last summer.

"This is my third full season here, we've made an awful lot of changes, in many cases adding to the existing staff."
