Flyers prospect goes off for his 2nd 4-goal game in 2 weeks

Elliot Desnoyers must be watching his favorite "Rocky" movies.

The 2020 fifth-round pick looks pretty motivated as he's making a name for himself in the Flyers' prospect pool. For the second time in two weeks, Desnoyers ripped off four goals in one game as the Halifax Mooseheads beat the Charlottetown Islanders, 5-4, on Friday night.

Entering Saturday, the 18-year-old Desnoyers ranked second in the QMJHL with 10 goals and tied for third with 17 points through 11 games. After being dealt to the Mooseheads and taking on a much bigger role, the 5-foot-10, 183-pound forward is already one goal away from matching his total of 11 scored in 2019-20.

Here are his four goals from Friday night's victory:

The Flyers traded their two 2020 seventh-round selections to grab Desnoyers at 135th overall. Flyers assistant general manager Brent Flahr was told to keep an eye on Desnoyers and the club's amateur scouting staff did.

So far, so good.

The Flyers have snagged some nice, upside-type forwards in the fifth round over the last seven drafts: Oskar Lindblom (2014), David Kase (2015), Noah Cates (2017) and now Desnoyers, who is off to a loud start.
