Flyers unveil new 'Reverse Retro' jerseys with call-back to 1980s and 90s

The NHL on Monday morning revealed the Reverse Retro adidas jerseys for the 2020-21 season for all 31 teams.

The Flyers' edition of the Reverse Retros features a stick-tap to the unis that the team wore beginning in the mid-1980s and through the Legion of Doom era, except with a different color combination — black across the shoulders, burnt orange on the body.

The numbers on the sleeves and back of the jersey are switched up from the 1980s version as well; black numbers on the back with white outline, orange numbers with white outline on the sleeves. Hence the term Reverse Retro, right?

Not a drastic change, but with just three colors to work with, how crazy could they have gone?

All 31 teams will wear the jerseys multiple times this coming season, with special head-to-head matchups featuring old and new rivalries. The jerseys will be available to purchase on Dec. 1 at the Flyers' official shop.
