Flyers

Flyers

After beating the NHL-best Capitals, the Flyers face another tall order.

The Flyers (23-15-6) welcome the Lightning (26-13-4) Saturday.

Let's get into the essentials:

When: 7 p.m. ET with Flyers Pregame Live at 6:30 p.m. ET
Where: Wells Fargo Center

• The Lightning are starting to click and look like the 2018-19 team that matched the NHL record for most wins in a regular season with 62.

Tampa Bay holds the league's longest active win streak at nine games, a stretch in which it has outscored the opposition 42-17.

During the streak, Brayden Point and Steven Stamkos have 14 points apiece, Nikita Kucherov owns 12 and goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy has gone 7-0-0 with a 1.86 goals-against average and .940 save percentage.

• In this matchup, something must give because the Flyers have been dominant at home.

Alain Vigneault's team has earned at least a point in 18 of its 20 home games (14-2-4), putting up the NHL's best points percentage at .800. The Flyers are allowing the league's fewest home goals per game with 1.95, while Carter Hart is 12-1-2 with a 1.52 goals-against average and .945 save percentage at home.

No NHL goalie has a better goals-against average or save percentage at home (minimum six games).

• Scott Laughton will move from winger to center after the Flyers sent Mikhail Vorobyev to AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley.

The Flyers have liked Laughton on the wing, but they need more consistent and balanced minutes down the middle.

They'll hope Laughton and Michael Raffl can provide that, along with their penalty kill strengths.
