After watching the Flyers' intrasquad scrimmage Sunday night at the Wells Fargo Center from up top in one of the team management suites, head coach Alain Vigneault said the club's hockey operations personnel had a brief conversation regarding roster matters.
"We're going to sleep on it," Vigneault said. "We've got a couple of decisions."

The club on Monday placed Samuel Morin, Chris Bigras, Andy Andreoff, Tyler Wotherspoon, Alex Lyon, Nate Prosser and Derrick Pouliot on waivers. If those players clear waivers by noon ET Tuesday, they will either start getting ready for AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley's season or they could make the big club's taxi squad. Morin or Andreoff could make the roster.
Update: It looks like Flyers have season-opening lineup and roster, but still missing D-man
Morin, the 6-foot-6 2013 first-round pick, has transitioned from defenseman to left winger. Will he get claimed? Leaning toward no just given if he's claimed by another club, in order for that team to put Morin on its taxi squad or send him to the AHL, he would have to clear waivers again. The 25-year-old Morin has suffered two torn ACLs and has been working on a new position for just over a few months.
The Flyers have to submit their 23-player roster and taxi squad of four to six players by 5 p.m. ET Tuesday.
NHL
Mark Friedman was not placed on waivers, an indication that he will be the Flyers' eighth defenseman.
The club still has a decision to make on its 13th forward. Then it'll have to see which players it wants to start the 2020-21 season with on its taxi squad.

Notes
Four-year college forwards Wade Allison (unfit to play) and Tanner Laczynski (offseason core muscle surgery) would have been in the conversation had they been healthy in camp. Laczynski was unable to participate at all, while Allison missed the final two days of camp because of an undisclosed issue.
Bunnaman, 22, gained valuable experience down the stretch last season before the NHL trade deadline in February, when the Flyers acquired Derek Grant and Nate Thompson.
Bunnaman would give them size and positional versatility. He also played four games in the NHL's return-to-play 24-team tournament, so the Flyers clearly trust him and like his ability to jump in.
These players are also candidates for the taxi squad.

Pouliot, Prosser and Egor Zamula are candidates for the taxi squad.
The 2012 first-round pick Pouliot was signed in the offseason and Prosser is a 34-year-old veteran who has played 354 career NHL games.
The organization is very high on the 20-year-old Zamula but the Phantoms could be best for his development. It wouldn't be overly surprising, though, to see the Flyers want him around; he was on their 31-man playoff roster.
