While R.J. Umberger's first stint with the Flyers came nearly a decade prior to his return, he did make his way back to Philadelphia in June 2014. His return via trade sent Scott Hartnell to Columbus. The city wound up losing a fan favorite in Hartnell and in return, received a forward that battled with injuries and was not the same player he once was.

First stint from 2005-08: 228 games, 116 points (49 goals, 67 assists)
Second stint from 2014-16: 106 games, 26 points (11 goals, 15 assists)

His contract was bought out by the Flyers in the 2016 offseason.

Johnny Oduya played 850 games in the NHL. One of those games was for the Flyers and it was the final game of his NHL career.

The Flyers claimed Oduya off waivers in February 2018. In his lone game on March 4, a 4-1 loss to the Panthers, the veteran defenseman played only 12:22 and exited with an injury.

The Flyers then got healthier on defense, while Travis Sanheim was called back up to the big club and played well down the stretch into the playoffs.

Oduya won two Stanley Cups with the Blackhawks but had his final NHL hurrah with the orange and black.

Joining the Flyers in summer 2013, Mark Streit quickly became a staple to Philadelphia's blue line. His first two seasons with the team, he led the Flyers' defense in points with 44 (10 goals, 34 assists) in 2013-14 and 52 (nine goals, 43 assists) in 2014-15.

Because of injury, Streit missed a chunk of his third season with the club but still put up 23 points (six goals, 17 assists). What came out of his injury though affected the Flyers moving forward in years to come, as rookie Shayne Gostisbehere took over his spot on the power play.  

Eventually, the defenseman was traded in 2017 to Tampa Bay for Valtteri Filppula and a pair of 2017 draft picks.

Yes, Mike Knuble played for the Flyers in this decade. Remember his second stint with the club during the 2012-13 season?

From 2005 to 2009, Knuble scored 24 or more goals in each of his four seasons with the Flyers, including a 34-goal 2005-06 campaign.

The winger returned to the Flyers at 40 years old and played 28 games during the shortened 2012-13 season.

OK, maybe Chris VandeVelde is one you'd like to forget but everyone remembers.

It's also crazy to think that he dressed for 250 games for the orange and black and at one point even had a brief appearance on the top line with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek.

Through his four seasons in Philadelphia, he collected 45 points (17 goals, 28 assists).

If his time as a Flyer has taught you anything, it's to appreciate the depth that the current team has.

Matt Read’s production tapered off rather quickly as he got older, but the undrafted Bemidji State product was one of the Flyers’ more underrated decade performers.

The winger scored the Flyers’ seventh-most goals (87) and eight-most points (187) during the decade.

He finished fourth in Calder Memorial Trophy voting (Rookie of the Year) after scoring 24 goals and 47 points in 2011-12.

Jaromir Jagr's time with the 2011-12 Flyers was special for him. After he spent three seasons in the KHL, the Flyers brought the free agent to Philadelphia where he started his second stint in the NHL.

Through the 73 games he dressed for that season, he produced 54 points (19 goals, 35 assists). This placed him third overall in points on the team, only behind Claude Giroux and Scott Hartnell.

"Thank God I picked Philly to be that team to help me," Jagr said upon his return to the Wells Fargo Center as a Florida Panther in 2015-16.

Defenseman Nicklas Grossmann played 198 games for the Flyers this decade.

During that time, he revealed his name had been misspelled for years in the NHL, as it was missing a second “n” at the end.

Grossmann’s name was fixed thanks to his time with the Flyers.
