A possible leak of what could be a new (but fourth) look for the Flyers surfaced Monday, eliciting plenty of attention on various social media platforms.

Chris Smith of Icethetics obtained pictures for a blog post in which he detailed what appear to be "reverse retro" jerseys for both the Flyers and Penguins.

Kind of new, kind of old school.

Per the Icethetics' story, these threads might not even be considered alternate sweaters.

You can read and see more about them right here.

Considering the potential for a fresh addition to the fan base's wardrobe, we decided to revisit our highly official ranking of the Flyers' all-time alternate jerseys.

This jersey wasn't as popular simply because it was worn for only one season — 2016-17. But the gold was a neat addition for a meaningful year in the franchise, celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The orange returned as an alternate with a distinct look in 2002. Depending on the lighting, the jersey almost looked red sometimes because of the darker and deeper orange.

But these were sweet with a modern look and logo. Obviously, orange is now the Flyers' main color worn at home.

After a not-so-loving initial reaction to this jersey, Flyers fans gradually became more accepting of the 2019 Stadium Series sweater.

These threads essentially had no white but they popped under the lights at Lincoln Financial Field in front of 69,620 fans.

A ridiculous comeback over the rival Penguins, capped by Claude Giroux's overtime heroics, adds a little sparkle to this jersey, which was used as an alternate in the team's following game.

The Flyers still don these jerseys as alternates after introducing them as their 2017 Stadium Series sweater. The black numbers and last names bring out the black even more, a nifty look with orange and white standing as the complementary colors.

The jersey numbers on the sleeves appear to be bigger, almost matching the size of the Flyers' logo, which is a treat for the viewer and offers an element of uniqueness.

The black jersey was so awesome when it was introduced in 1997. It marked the first time the organization highlighted its secondary color.

The sweater just had a cool, new, intense kind of look that still resonates with fans. The black eventually became a regular jersey for the Flyers.

These threads were unique because the 2012 Winter Classic was so unique. The event, overall, was memorable, so it made the jersey special for fans.

Whenever you see it, you think of Jan. 2 at Citizens Bank Park. The jersey had a retro-modern blend.

The Flyers ended up rolling with these as alternates until the end of the 2015-16 season.

This is an exception. The jersey wasn't an alternate but one of the originals. It has to be No. 1 because it was the basis for all the franchise's sweaters that have followed, as the Flyers haven't gotten too far away from it, which is cool. After all, those were franchise-shaping years.
