The Philadelphia Eagles, NBC10/Telemundo62 and NBC Sports Philadelphia are excited to announce a multi-platform partnership around the Eagles Autism Challenge, as the networks will serve as the official media partner of the inaugural event.

Set for Saturday, May 19th at Lincoln Financial Field, the Eagles Autism Challenge is a one-day cycling and 5K run/walk fundraiser dedicated to raising much-needed funds for innovative research and programs that will transform the lives of those affected by autism.

“NBC’s distinguished reputation as a leader in news and sports coverage is one of the many reasons why we are so excited about our multi-platform partnership,” said Ryan Hammond, Executive Director of the Eagles Autism Challenge. “With NBC10, NBC Sports Philadelphia and Telemundo62 already serving as the official home to exclusive Philadelphia Eagles coverage, we believe that this joint commitment to autism awareness and action will really strengthen our partnership. On behalf of the Eagles Autism Challenge, we are privileged to have the support of NBC in our efforts to raise much-needed funds for an important cause.”

As a proud partner of the Eagles Autism Challenge, NBC10 and NBC Sports Philadelphia’s partnership includes extensive support of the campaign through promotional and news stories, on air, on NBC10.com, NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com and across all social media accounts. NBC10, Telemundo62 and NBC Sports Philadelphia will also support the Eagles Autism Challenge with a fundraising team.

“We are excited to expand our partnership with the Philadelphia Eagles and bring awareness to the Eagles Autism Challenge,” said Ric Harris, President and General Manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62. “We are committed to helping the families who live with autism every day and use the reach of our television stations to inspire the community to make a difference.”

“We are proud to support the Philadelphia Eagles and the terrific work they do in our community,” said Brian Monihan, President NBC Sports Philadelphia. “The Eagles Autism Challenge will raise much-needed funds for a very important cause that impacts so many. By partnering with NBC10, we can use the power of our networks to raise awareness and money for autism research.”

Autism is one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders in the country with one in 68 children affected and one in 42 boys, yet it has been historically underfunded, misunderstood and under-researched. The Eagles Autism Challenge is working to bring thought leaders in the field of autism together to collaborate on groundbreaking research that will have a transformational impact around the world.

The Eagles Autism Challenge features the Wawa Junior 15-Mile Ride, Wawa Shorti 30-Mile Ride and the Wawa Classic 50-Mile Ride, along with the family-friendly “five Below 5K Run/Walk.” All routes begin and end at Lincoln Financial Field, with the finish line taking place at the 50-yard line. One hundred percent of participant-raised funds will be directed to autism research and programs at three nationally recognized research institutions – Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University, and Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health.

NBC10 and NBC Sports Philadelphia have been the exclusive television stations for Eagles coverage, serving as the team’s official broadcast partner since 2015.
