With two losses on the season, Penn State will need some help to make the four-team College Football Playoff.

Well, on Saturday, the Nittany Lions got their wish.

A wild Week 11 in college football saw three of the top four teams in both the AP Top 25  and CFP rankings — Clemson, Michigan and Washington — all take their first loss, with No. 8 Texas A&M and No. 9 Auburn receiving their third losses.

Penn State's rise up the AP poll continued Sunday, with the Nittany Lions moving up one spot to No. 9 in the nation in the AP rankings. The latest College Football Playoff rankings will be released on Tuesday.

After a sluggish start, the Lions fought back to top Indiana and improve to 8-2 on the season Saturday (see story).

Alabama remains at the top, with Ohio State moving from No. 6 all the way up to the 2-spot, followed by Louisville at No. 3 in the AP rankings (see full poll).
