Temple offensive lineman Dion Dawkins and defensive lineman Haason Reddick on Wednesday were named to the American Athletic Conference all-conference first team.

Four Owls made the all-conference second team — running back Jahad Thomas, defensive lineman Praise Martin-Oguike, linebacker Avery Williams and safety Sean Chandler. Tight end Colin Thompson and linebacker Stephaun Marshall were honorable mentions.

Dawkins, a senior, made the all-conference second team last season. With Dawkins anchoring Temple's O-line this season, the Owls had two running backs — Thomas and sophomore Ryquell Armstead — rush for more than 800 yards and 12 touchdowns each.

Reddick, who was without a scholarship until this year, led Temple with 57 tackles and 9½ sacks in 12 games this season. He led the AAC with 21½ tackles for loss. In his career, Reddick has 45½ tackles for loss, which is second on Temple's all-time tackles for loss list. Dan Klecko has the record with 65 tackles for loss.

The redshirt senior was a unanimous selection, and received votes for the AAC Defensive Player of the Year, which was awarded to Central Florida's Shaquem Griffin.

On Saturday, Temple kicks off against No. 19 Navy in Annapolis, Maryland, in the AAC conference championship game. It's the Owls' second straight appearance in the title game.
