The Sixers' D-League affiliate Delaware 87ers announced their coaching staff Wednesday and it included a couple names familiar to Philadelphia basketball fans.

Former Villanova forward Curtis Sumpter, who averaged 17.4 points as a senior in 2006-07, will be the 87ers' player development coach for the 2016-17 season.

Sumpter had been a player development assistant with the Sixers since 2013.

The other notable addition is Phil Martelli Jr., who will be an assistant coach. Martelli Jr. spent the past five seasons as assistant coach at the University of Delaware, and also coached at Niagara, Manhattan and Central Connecticut State.

Martelli Jr. played four seasons at St. Joe's under his father, Phil Martelli. Martelli Jr. was a co-captain with Jameer Nelson during his senior season.

Eugene Burroughs enters his first season as the 87ers' head coach.
