Carson Wentz among 5 Eagles players featured in Bovada's 2016 prop bets

Last week, Bovada released its odds for the NFL teams that will finish with the best and worst records, and the oddsmakers weren't too crazy about the Eagles' chances to compete in 2016 (see story).

The sports gambling site has now released its player prop bets for the 2016 season and they feature over/unders involving five different Eagles.

The Eagles' original plan was for Carson Wentz to not take a single snap this season, but following the trade of Sam Bradford and subsequent promotion of Wentz, Bovada has set the over/under of how many games the rookie will start at 12.5. Despite beginning the season as the Rams No. 3 quarterback, fellow rookie and No. 1 overall pick Jarred Goff's over/under for starts is also 12.5.

The other prop bet featuring Wentz is the number of yards he will average per start. That line is set at 235. To put that in perspective, Sam Bradford averaged 266.1 passing yards per game last season.

In the backfield, Ryan Mathews has his rushing yards line set at 900 and his total touchdowns at six. Matthews rushed for 539 yards and found the end zone seven times last season, but he has rushed only for over 900 yards twice in his six seasons as a pro.

Bovada has prop bets involving two receiving targets in Jordan Matthews (900 receiving yards and six touchdowns) and Zach Ertz (750 receiving yards and four touchdowns). Matthews topped both of those numbers in 2015 with 997 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. If Ertz goes over on either of his props, it would set a career high.

Fletcher Cox was the only player on the defensive side of the ball featured in a prop bet, with his total number of sacks set at 8.5. Cox had 9.5 sacks last season before he was rewarded with a six-year, $103 million contract extension in the offseason.

Of the nine different prop bets involving the Eagles, which is the surest to hit?
