Eagles to have 14th or 15th pick in NFL draft based on coin flip

The Eagles have a 50-50 shot at getting the 14th pick in the upcoming NFL draft.

While the Eagles don't have their own pick in the upcoming draft, they do own the Vikings' pick, which will end up being a pretty good one. They got the pick thanks to the Sam Bradford trade just before the season.

The Vikings and Colts each finished with 8-8 records and equal strength of schedules, which will set up a coin flip at the combine in Indianapolis in February to determine who gets the higher pick. Winner gets No. 14, loser gets 15.

Meanwhile, the Eagles' pick (which is going to the Browns after the Eagles traded up to pick Carson Wentz this past offseason) comes in at No. 12.

This year's draft will be held in Philadelphia in April.

For a long time, it looked like the Vikings were going to leave the Eagles with a draft pick in the high 20s, but they collapsed and that collapse might give the Eagles a pick just two spots lower than where they would have picked anyway.

This season, the Eagles were 8-8 in coin tosses, which is impressive because they started the season 2-5 in their first seven games.

In 2014, the Cowboys won a coin flip over the Ravens for the 16th pick in the draft. They used it to take Pro Bowl guard Zack Martin.

In the most recent draft, the 14th pick was S Karl Joseph (Raiders), while 15th was WR Corey Coleman (Browns).
