HOUSTON -- After a brief holdout, Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was back to work on Monday catching passes from quarterback Brock Osweiler.

"I wasn't trying to send a message or anything like that," Hopkins said. "I was doing what I felt was best for me and my family."

Hopkins started training camp on the reserve/did not report list after failing to report to the team's facility by midnight on Friday.

On Sunday, Hopkins missed the first practice but then hours later the Texans announced his reassignment to the active list, ending his brief holdout.

BILLS: Veteran RB Bush signs 1-year contract
PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- A person with direct knowledge of the deal tells The Associated Press that the Buffalo Bills have agreed to sign veteran free-agent running back Reggie Bush to a one-year contract.

The person spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity because the Bills have not announced the deal that was reached Monday afternoon. The negotiations were completed after Bush traveled to Buffalo to take a physical and then met with Bills officials at their training camp facility outside Rochester.

Bush is a 10-year NFL veteran who played five games with San Francisco last year before suffering a season-ending left knee injury when he slipped on the bare concrete bordering the Edward Jones Dome field in St. Louis (see full story).

COLTS: Center Kelly out with shoulder injury
ANDERSON, Ind. -- Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly will miss Monday afternoon's practice with a strained left shoulder.

Coach Chuck Pagano says the rookie is considered day to day. Indy opens the preseason Sunday night against Green Bay in the annual Hall of Fame game at Canton, Ohio.

Kelly, Indy's first-round draft pick in April, was injured during Sunday's practice and watched the final 90 minutes of action from the side.

He has been in the working with the starters since May and will be replaced initially by Jonotthan Harrison, one of five starting centers quarterback Andrew Luck has taken snaps from over the past four seasons.

Pagano also says rookie safety Andrew Williamson will have an MRI on his injured knee.
