Flyers

Four Flyers filed for salary arbitration last Tuesday.

On Monday, the club came to terms with one of them, ahead of a hearing.

Jordan Weal, who was acquired last season as part of the Luke Schenn-Vinny Lecavalier trade with the Los Angeles Kings, agreed to a one-year, two-way contract, a source confirmed.

Weal will earn $650,000 if he makes the Flyers' roster, but it’s more likely the 24-year-old forward will start the season with the Phantoms, where he’ll earn $250,000.

Weal appeared in four games last season without any points.

The Flyers' most important player out there, restricted free agent Brayden Schenn, still has not signed. His agent, Don Meehan, said over the weekend there had not been any progress in talks.

Schenn, Brandon Manning and Nick Cousins all are awaiting hearing dates at this point.

The CBC first reported the Weal signing this morning.

Flyers add Lyubimov
The Flyers also signed Russian forward Roman Lyubimov to a one-year, two-way deal. He spent the last six seasons with CSKA Moscow in the KHL.
