Flyers sign defenseman Mark Friedman to entry-level contract

The Flyers on Tuesday signed defenseman Mark Friedman to an entry-level contract for the 2017-18 season.

His three-year entry-level contract is worth $2.733 million with an AAV of $825,000 per season, a source told CSNPhilly.com's Tim Panaccio.

Friedman, 21, was a third-round pick in 2014 (86th overall) and has spent the last three seasons playing for Bowling Green State University.

For the rest of this season, the Ontario native will report to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The 5-foot-11, 185-pound defenseman scored 68 points (26 goals, 52 assists) in 121 games, with a plus-21, while at Bowling Green.

This past year, he led the team's defense with 26 points (eight goals, 18 assists) in 40 games. All three were career highs.
