Ranking the Flyers' top 12 prospects
This is CSNPhilly.com’s top 12 Flyers prospects. The Flyers neither disclose how they rank their prospects nor say who their top prospects are. These are our rankings with scouting director Chris Pryor’s comments on each player. (Jordan Hall/CSNPhilly.com)

No. 1: D Ivan Provorov (Age 19, 6-1, 201 pounds)
Thinks the game like a veteran who has played in the NHL already. Scored 73 points in 62 games for Brandon in the WHL last season. Should make the roster this fall. Chris Pryor: “A very efficient player. Smart, thinks the game very well. Just a well-rounded player. Very intelligent and plays the game that way.” (USA Today Images)

No. 2: RW Travis Konecny (Age 19, 5-10, 183 pounds)
Flashy player, especially below the circle, but a bit undersized to make the Flyers this fall. Had a very impressive training camp with the Flyers last fall. Scored 101 points last season in the OHL. Chris Pryor: “Skill kid, very competitive who brings speed. Has tenacity.” (Jordan Hall/CSNPhilly.com)

No. 3: G Anthony Stolarz (Age 22, 6-6, 232 pounds)
Should be on the Flyers' roster beginning in 2016-17. GM Ron Hextall wants to develop him like Pens did with Matt Murray — slowly. Played 47 games for the Phantoms last season with 21 wins. Chris Pryor: “Big kid, made the jump to the AHL. A very athletic kid and moves well for his size.” (Zack Hill/Philadelphia Flyers)

No. 4: D Travis Sanheim (Age 20, 6-4, 199 pounds)
Top d-man for Calgary Hitmen with 68 points in 52 games and moves to AHL this season full-time. Chris Pryor: “For a big kid, he’s got an offensive element to his game. He's continually growing into his body, and his game is growing. Time for him to move on from junior and learn the pro game.” (USA Today Images)

No. 5: LW Oskar Lindblom (Age 19, 6-1, 192 pounds)
Strong year in Sweden (25 points in 48 games) and seven points in eight games as a Phantom. Chris Pryor: “The Swedes do a really good job from a development standpoint. Oskar knows how to play the game. Always in good position. Extremely smart around the net and boards. Protects the puck, finds the holes. A good complement to other players.” (Zack Hill/Philadelphia Flyers)

No. 6: D Sam Morin (Age 21, 6-7, 227 pounds)
Has struggled through some tough injuries and illnesses and is still learning the pro game. Scored 19 points in 76 games with the Phantoms. Chris Pryor: “He’s still learning the pro game, and there’s a big difference between junior and pro. For Sam, last year [was] a big step in the right direction from a learning curve standpoint.” (AP)

No. 7: C Radel Fazleev (Age 20, 6-1, 192 pounds)
Plays a heavy game with the Hitmen in the WHL where he had 71 points in 59 games. Chris Pryor: “He’s another guy who plays the game the right way. Plays a 200-foot game. He can play wing but is more comfortable now as a centerman. A big, heavy body and plays smart without the puck.” (Zack Hill/Philadelphia Flyers)

No. 8: LW Taylor Leier (Age 22, 5-10, 174 pounds)
Played six games for the Flyers last season averaging about eight minutes without registering any points. Chris Pryor: “[Ron Hextall's] been saying patience, and Taylor is a perfect example of that. He has to grow as a pro and took a big step last year. He’s on the cusp from the AHL to playing in the NHL. Needs to get a little bigger.” (USA Today Images)

No. 9: C Cole Bardreau (Age: Turns 23 in July, 5-10, 193 pounds)
He had 30 points in 54 games as a Phantom, and Ron Hextall sees him as a dark horse to watch in the fall training camp. Chris Pryor: “The more you watch him, the more you appreciate his competitiveness and approach to the game. His enthusiasm is contagious. Brings energy.” (Zack Hill/Philadelphia Flyers)

No. 10: D Robert Hagg (Age 21, 6-2, 201 pounds)
Could be the odd man out given the depth on defense. Scored 11 points in 65 games with the Phantoms. Chris Pryor: “People forget about Robert. He’s still a young guy. He’s made steps that may be not as big as people want to see, but he’s a growing guy. People forget how young he is.” (USA Today Images)

No. 11: G Alex Lyon (Age 23, 6-1, 201 pounds)
Flyers liked him enough they were willing to sign him out of Yale to a contract this year with the Phantoms. Chris Pryor: “You look at what he’s done at the college level. He’s benefited and done all he can do there. Time to move on. In a great situation with him and Anthony [Stolarz] with healthy competitiveness.” (Zack Hill/Philadelphia Flyers)

No. 12: C German Rubtsov (Age 18, 6-2, 178 pounds)
Flyers' top pick in the 2016 draft (22nd overall), was ranked fifth by NHL Central Registry among European skaters. All-around forward, but not a scoring center. Chris Pryor: “Very good all-around player, defensively conscious, but he has some offense to his game. This kid is going to surprise you in a few years.” (USA Today Images)
