Tonight's lineup: Phillies maintain same lineup after blowout defeat

The Phillies are rolling out their same lineup the day after a 14-4 beatdown at the hands of the Mets.

The loss, of course, wasn't from a lack of offense and had a lot more to do with Clay Buchholz and Adam Morgan's inability to stifle the Mets' hitting onslaught. This same Phils lineup is just a few days removed from a 17-run outing of its own and the Phillies' offense as a whole is tied for third in the National League with 42 runs. A big part of that torrid offensive start has been the contributions of Howie Kendrick and Odubel Herrera as the 2-3 combo in the lineup. Each has an OBP above .440 and Kendrick's .407 average is fifth in the National League

After tossing out Matt Harvey on Tuesday, the Mets bring Zack Wheeler to the hill, looking to rebound after a rocky 2016 debut. Wheeler made his first start since 2014 (Tommy John surgery) and was hit around by the Marlins to the tune of five runs in four innings. His four strikeouts to just one walk were a good sign, but he allowed a home run among six hits during the outing.

Only two Phillies -- Cesar Hernandez and Andres Blanco -- have faced Wheeler and each of them is 1 for 2 against him. The righty starter throws a mid-90s fastball and sinker and mixes in a slider, changeup and curveball.

Here's the lineup that will oppose Wheeler:

1. Cesar Hernandez, 2B
2. Howie Kendrick, LF
3. Odubel Herrera, CF
4. Maikel Franco, 3B
5. Michael Saunders, RF
6. Tommy Joseph, 1B
7. Cameron Rupp, C
8. Freddy Galvis, SS
9. Vince Velasquez, P
