Fresh off an Eastern Division title last season, the Soul are making changes to their roster.

The team on Friday signed wide receiver Darius Reynolds, a member of the ArenaBowl winning San Jose SaberCats, and re-signed linebacker Joe Goosby for the 2016 season.

Goosby is returning to the franchise for the fifth season.

Reynolds was a solid contributor in 2015 for the SaberCats, who ceased operations shortly after winning the championship. Reynolds racked up 561 yards and 11 touchdowns on 49 catches for the SaberCats after recording 2,567 yards and 55 touchdowns in his previous three years with the Iowa Barnstormers. The 26-year-old receiver played his college ball at Reedley College before transferring to Iowa State.

The Soul see Reynolds as a key addition to their roster for this season.

“We have evaluated Darius as the top receiver in the Arena Football League, he has been a focus of our off season recruiting,” Soul head coach Clint Dolezel said in a statement. “He is a dynamic receiver with great size, speed and hands, and his addition will make us a very difficult offense to stop.”

Goosby, on the other hand, is a familiar face to the team. He was third on the team with 68.5 total tackles in 2015 and also recorded four pass breakups, five forced fumbles, two interceptions and one touchdown. In four seasons with the Soul, he has recorded at least 50 tackles in each season with a career-high 96 tackles in 2012. He’s also added in coverage throughout his career with the Soul, compiling 12 interceptions and eight defensive touchdowns.

“Joe has been a rock at the Jack linebacker position for four season now,” Dolezel said. “Having him back gives us the talent and experience to continue to be one of the best defenses in the Arena Football League.”

Before joining the Soul, Goosby played three seasons in professional football, spending the 2011 season with the AFL’s Dallas Vigilantes. In college, he earned an All-Conference USA honor while at Tulane.
