Phillies on pace for highest-rated season since 2012

PHILADELPHIA- (July 10, 2019) – The Philadelphia Phillies on NBC Sports Philadelphia, NBC Sports Philadelphia+ and NBC10 are on pace to have the highest-rated season since 2012, and 2019 is shaping up to be the most-streamed season ever. NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com has also posted double-digit gains in Phillies traffic.

2019 Highlights:

  • Through the All-Star Break, the Phillies are averaging a 4.4 HH Rating, up +23% compared to their 2018 performance prior to the All Star Break.
  • Among HH Ratings, 93% of Phillies games this season have ranked in the top 3 during the market time period, up from 84% a year ago.
  • The Phillies season opener on WCAU earned a 10.1 HH Rating, the highest-rated opening day since 2013 (WPHL 11.5 Rating).
  • The April 2nd game against the Nationals earned a 7.7 HH Rating on NBC Sports Philadelphia+, the highest-rated game on NBC Sports Philadelphia since July 2012.
  • Through the All-Star Break, the Phillies are averaging 17.9K uniques and 842K minutes per game, up +144% and 102% respectively vs. 2018.
  • 40 of the top 50 most-streamed Phillies games ever have taken place in 2019 including the 4 most-streamed Phillies games ever.
    • April 3, 2019 (Phillies vs. Nationals) -  48K uniques/3.1M minutes
    • April 2, 2019 (Phillies vs. Nationals) – 43K uniques/3.0M minutes

The Phillies return to NBC Sports Philadelphia on Friday, July 12 at 6 p.m. when they take on division rivals Washington Nationals at Citizens Bank Park.

Expert Betting Information and Analysis to be Featured on NBC Sports Bet coverage of 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets

Hosts Farzetta, Feinberg and Gargano Return to Provide Alternate Commentary on NBC Sports Philadelphia+

PHILADELPHIA – APRIL 18, 2019 – NBC Sports Philadelphia will present a special NBA Playoff edition betting-centric telecast for Game 4 of the Philadelphia 76ers-Brooklyn Nets first-round playoff series. The broadcast will air on NBC Sports Philadelphia+ on Saturday, April 20, at 3 p.m. 

NBC Sports Philadelphia first debuted the alternate sports betting format on April 3, 2019 for the Philadelphia 76ers-Atlanta Hawks game.

Saturday’s alternate broadcast featuring betting related commentary and analysis in real time, along with up-to-date betting data and information, will again be led by NBC Sports Philadelphia and 97.5 The Fanatic host Marc Farzetta, alongside sports betting expert Brad Feinberg, and Anthony Gargano from 97.5 the Fanatic. 

The hosts will discuss a variety of potential wagers and how gameplay impacts certain bets throughout the game. Their commentary and analysis are complemented by on-screen graphics featuring betting data and information, including a glossary of gambling terminology. The remainder of the visual presentation is identical to the primary game telecast on NBC Sports Philadelphia.

“The launch of this innovative product earlier this month generated positive feedback from fans and partners, so we are thrilled to present it again during a live playoff game,” said NBC Sports Philadelphia President Brian Monihan. “The 76ers are an exciting team and fans are highly engaged, so it’s a great opportunity to complement the overall fan experience.”

Saturday’s sports betting broadcast is NBC Sports Philadelphia’s latest venture in providing relevant and timely sports betting content for Philly sports fans. The Daily Line aired during the NFL season, and betting odds are included on NBCSportsPhiladelphia.com and within podcasts.

In addition, NBC Sports Group offers a variety of sports betting related content and programming:

  • • NBC Sports Regional Networks in January launched an alternate predictive-gaming telecast for its NBC Sports Washington coverage of the Washington Wizards. 
  • • NBC Sports offers free-to-play prediction games on the NBC Sports Predictor games platform, in partnership with Boom Fantasy. Eligible fans have the chance to win thousands of dollars in weekly cash prizes across a variety of contests, including Premier League soccer and golf.
  • • NBC Sports Radio produces The Daily Line, a weekday afternoon drive show from 3-7 p.m. ET, in partnership with Westwood One Radio.

Phillies’ 8-2 Win Was Most-Streamed Phillies Game Ever

PHILADELPHIA- (April 3, 2019) – Bryce Harper returned to Washington, D.C., to face his old team, and with the Phillies off to their best start since 1915, last night’s game posted a 7.7 household rating on NBC Sports Philadelphia. The Phillies’ 8-2 win-- highlighted by Harper’s two-run home run-- is the highest-rated regular season game of any sport on either NBC Sports Philadelphia or NBC Sports Philadelphia+ since July 2012 (8.11 HH Rating, 7/5/12, Phillies vs. Mets).

On digital, the game delivered 43,000 unique devices and more than three million minutes, making it the most-streamed Phillies game ever.  The prior high was set for Phillies’ Opening Day, which registered 37,000 unique devices and two million minutes. 

The Phillies play the second of a two-game series with the Nationals today at 1 pm on NBC Sports Philadelphia and on the MyTeams app.
