The Phillies were in Cincinnati for just one day before returning home for a six-game homestand against the Miami Marlins and San Diego Padres on Tuesday night.
The Phils’ offense could get a boost Tuesday night as Jean Segura is in line to come off the injured list if he passes a pregame evaluation. He has been out since June 16 because of a groin injury.
Segura is having a strong season, hitting .332 with an .845 OPS, 12 doubles, three homers and 20 RBIs in 49 games. He’s been on the IL twice with leg injuries.
It’s not out of the question that shortstop Didi Gregorius could be activated sometime during the homestand, which runs through Sunday. He will be evaluated Tuesday in Philadelphia and likely play a couple of more minor-league games before being evaluated again mid-week. He has been out since May 13 with a bone bruise/inflammation in his right elbow.

Joe Girardi announced his rotation through Saturday.
Vince Velasquez, Aaron Nola and Zach Eflin will pitch Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday against the Marlins. Zack Wheeler and Matt Moore will start Friday and Saturday against San Diego. Sunday’s starter is TBA.
