Baseball’s awards season is fast approaching and it could be a busy time for Phillies slugger Bryce Harper.

Harper and teammate J.T. Realmuto have both been announced as finalists for a Silver Slugger award in the National League.

Harper is a finalist in the outfield along with Washington’s Juan Soto, Cincinnati’s Nick Castellanos, Pittsburgh’s Bryan Reynolds, Atlanta’s Adam Duvall, Cincinnati’s Jesse Winker and St. Louis’ Tyler O’Neill.

Realmuto is one of four catchers who are finalists for the award, joining San Francisco’s Buster Posey, Los Angeles’ Will Smith and Milwaukee’s Omar Narvaez.

The Silver Slugger is awarded by Louisville Slugger to the top offensive producer at each position. It is voted on by MLB managers and coaches.

Realmuto made his third NL All-star team in 2021 and hit .263 with 17 homers, 73 RBIs and a .782 OPS.

Harper led the majors with a 1.044 OPS and the NL with 78 extra-base hits. He hit .309 with 35 homers and 84 RBIs.

Winners of Silver Slugger awards will be announced on MLB Network on November 11 at 6 p.m.

Harper is also a finalist for MLB Player of the Year in the Players Choice Awards. These awards are voted on by players in both leagues. Zack Wheeler is a finalist for a Players Choice Award as NL Pitcher of the Year.

The Players Choice Awards winner will be announced Thursday at 6 p.m. on ESPN.

Harper and Wheeler will also receive strong consideration for the NL Most Valuable Player and Cy Young awards. The Cy Young will be announced November 17 and the MVP on November 18.
