Bryce Harper plays RF, set to face reigning Cy Young winner Blake Snell today

CLEARWATER, Fla. — Saturday was a positive first step for Bryce Harper, who saw 10 pitches and walked twice in his pair of plate appearances as the Phillies' designated hitter.

Monday afternoon (1:05 p.m. on NBCSP) will be more of a test. Harper will play right field for the first time as a Phillie. It's unclear how many innings he'll play, but four seems reasonable since it would get him two plate appearances.

Barring an unexpected change, Harper will face left-hander and reigning AL Cy Young winner Blake Snell in a primo matchup. He may face Snell just once, though, seeing as Snell pitched only one inning in his previous start this spring.

That first-inning matchup between Harper and Snell will be interesting, even though the results of spring training ABs are mostly meaningless. The goal for Harper will be the same as it was Saturday — get comfortable, track some pitches, take a good swing or two and unload if he gets a pitch out over the plate. If Harper doesn't reach base against Snell he will be far from alone — lefties last season hit .135 against Snell with a .191 on-base percentage.

Here's the Phillies' full lineup behind pitcher Vince Velasquez:

1. Andrew McCutchen, LF
2. Jean Segura, SS
3. Bryce Harper, RF
4. J.T. Realmuto, C
5. Sean Rodriguez, 1B
6. Scott Kingery, CF
7. Phil Gosselin, 3B
8. Drew Butera, DH
9. Gift Ngoepe, 2B
