Bryce Harper is wearing Slurpee and Funyun-inspired cleats for Father's Day

With every passing day it seems we learn something new about Bryce Harper. Today, Father’s Day, is no different.

During today’s game, the Phillies broadcast showed off the special cleats Harper is wearing for the Father’s Day game to honor his dad, Ron. While the colors more resemble that of the rival New York Mets, they have a cool and special meaning behind them.

Take a look.

As Tom McCarthy indicated on the broadcast, the colors are meant to resemble the colors of the Slurpee his dad used to buy him after games and Funyuns, a snack they also enjoyed together. That’s pretty cool.

There’s also this special message, too. It reads "My pops sacrificed everything to help me fulfill my dream."

We got to see Ron during last year’s Home Run Derby, pitching his son to victory, but it’s always cool to learn more about Bryce and his family.

This will be the last Father’s Day that Bryce won’t be a father himself, so we’re expecting something pretty special next year, too.
