Charlie Manuel teases star-studded Zoom reunion to air on YouTube

The 2008 Phillies have been on everyone's minds over the last few weeks as NBC Sports Philadelphia has been reairing their entire playoff run, including the World Series battle with the Tampa Bay Rays (Game 3 tonight, 7:00 pm).

Well it appears that Charlie Manuel has gotten the band back together, at least over one truly awesome Zoom call.

Manuel tweeted a photo of his screen during a call with the following message:

Zoom reunion w Howard, Lidge, Burrell, Utley, Vic, Billmeyer, Eyre & Werth. Such good stuff! Loved seeing all the guys. I almost cried they said such nice things to me. Very touching. My teams @Phillies the best in my 50+ years in baseball. It’s gonna play on YouTube.

And if you ... zoom in on the photo, it appears that Shane Victorino is participating from his car. Very on brand for Shane.

Manuel went through some health issues this past winter but when Jim Salisbury spoke with him at the end of March, Charlie was in good spirits.

"I miss being around the field. I miss the players. I miss talking baseball," Manuel said back in March, so talking some ball with his '08 boys was surely a treat. "I love working for the Phillies. I want to be able to help. I want to look and see the talent we have. I want to be a part of Phillies baseball and the community and communicate with fans."

And the fans want it too.

Keep an eye on YouTube for the teased call with much of the 2008 squad. How cool will it be to see those guys just chatting it up? Sounds awesome.
