Update: MLB has announced that the Phillies games in New York this week have been postponed, as well. The next scheduled game for the team is now Friday at Citizens Bank Park. The Phillies will be the road team in the weekend series.
Tuesday night's Phillies-Yankees game at Citizens Bank Park has been postponed.
Monday night's game was also postponed.
The postponements follow a COVID-19 outbreak on the Miami Marlins roster over the weekend in Philadelphia.
Phillies players were told on Monday that the fate of Tuesday's game hung on the results of testing that was performed on Monday. According to sources, there were no new positive tests among Phillies players but baseball commissioner Rob Manfred chose to postpone the game out of an "abundance of caution."
The Yankees have been in Philadelphia since Sunday night. They are heading home.
The plan is still for the Phillies to play their regularly scheduled game at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night. The Phillies will travel to New York by bus on Wednesday.
Baseball's COVID-19 protocol calls for players to be tested every other day. Phillies players will be tested again Tuesday. They will be tested in their cars at the ballpark then drive home.
