The Phillies very quietly fired one of their minor-league managers last week, according to sources.
Milver Reyes had worked in the team's player development system since 2018. He was in his first year managing the Clearwater Threshers at the low Single A classification. He had previously managed the Phillies' Gulf Coast League team and had been assigned to manage the Williamsport club before the pandemic hit in 2020.
There was no announcement signaling Reyes' exit.
Marty Malloy, who managed in the Phillies' system from 2017 until becoming the organization's infield coordinator in 2020, is now managing the Clearwater club. That team entered Saturday with a 35-34 record.
Bryan Minniti, the Phillies' assistant general manager who oversees player development, confirmed Reyes' firing but otherwise declined comment, saying it was an in-house personnel matter.
