The Phillies' regular season is on pause, which means left fielder Andrew McCutchen had time Wednesday to check his Twitter account.
Which was bad news for one disgruntled Phillies fan.
McCutchen has plenty of tweets sent his way, but a particular message from one Twitter user, berating McCutchen for his .000 batting average so far this season, clearly caught his eye.
So he took a moment, stretched those Twitter fingers, and typed out the perfect, tongue-in-cheek response:
Honestly, let's just count this as Cutch's first hit of the year.
Criticizing a baseball player over any statistic from a two-game sample size isn't exactly a winning formula, and that goes double for taking aim at someone like McCutchen, who's had an incredibly productive 12-year career.

McCutchen is a career .285 hitter who is working his way back from an ACL injury last summer, so you'll excuse me - and basically every Phillies fan - if his 0-for start isn't exactly cause for concern.
Plus, while his offense is slowly returning, his defense is clearly already all the way back, a huge part of McCutchen's value as a ball player.
And this is all before we address the way sports fans routinely treat athletes and their free time, as if athletes aren't human beings with interests outside of their jobs.
In the end, it's been two games. If and when the Phils return, McCutchen will hit the baseball plenty, because he is good.
But sports are back, and so are angry fans, so here we are.
