The Phillies have announced their opening day roster. It includes 16 pitchers, two catchers, five infielders and six outfielders. The Phils can still add one more player to max out at 30 men. It is likely that utility man Phil Gosselin will be added to the roster before Friday night's season opener once some contractual details are worked out.

In this shortened 60-game season, teams are allowed to carry 30 players for the first two weeks. Roster sizes shrink to 28 after two weeks and to the customary 26 two weeks after that.

Aaron Nola will start Friday night's opener at Citizens Bank Park against Miami's Sandy Alcantara.

Here is the roster:

Pitchers (16): Right-handers Jake Arrieta, Zach Eflin, Deolis Guerra, Tommy Hunter, Trevor Kelley, Reggie McClain, Héctor Neris, Aaron Nola, Nick Pivetta, Ramón Rosso, Vince Velasquez and Zack Wheeler and left-handers José Álvarez, Austin Davis, Cole Irvin and Adam Morgan

Catchers (2): Andrew Knapp and J.T. Realmuto

Infielders (5): Didi Gregorius, Rhys Hoskins, Scott Kingery, Jean Segura and Neil Walker

Outfielders (6): Jay Bruce, Kyle Garlick, Bryce Harper, Adam Haseley, Andrew McCutchen and Roman Quinn

Prior to finalizing the roster, the Phillies reinstated left-hander Austin Davis, right-hander Tommy Hunter, infielder Scott Kingery and right-hander Hector Neris from the injured list. Also, right-handers Trevor Kelley and Ramón Rosso and infielder Neil Walker had their contracts selected and right-hander Robert Stock was designated for assignment. Right-handers Seranthony Domínguez and David Roberston and left-hander Ranger Suárez will open the season on the injured list.
