Weather could threaten Phillies matchup vs. Braves?

Mother Nature could have her say about Phillies opening day. Rain is in the forecast Thursday in the Philadelphia area when the Phils host the Braves.

It will be their first home game with fans since the 2019 season. NBC10’s model shows rain through the late morning on Thursday, but things could clear up around 1 or 2 p.m. First pitch is 3:05 p.m. on NBC10 and the model shows dry conditions by then, albeit cold and windy.

The temperature projection for first pitch is 46 degrees, dropping to the low-40s by the end of the game with temps that feel closer to the mid-30s with wind.

It's Aaron Nola for the Phillies and lefty Max Fried for the Braves. The Phillies have held their own against the Braves the last two seasons, going 15-14 as Atlanta has won consecutive division titles.
