Less than five hours before Friday's 4 p.m. trade deadline, the Phillies announced a swap of minor-leaguers with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Phillies picked up lefty reliever Braeden Ogle in exchange for catcher Abrahan Gutierrez.
Ogle, 24, has never pitched in the majors. He had a 3.31 ERA in 31⅔ innings at Triple A Indianapolis this season. He boasted a strong strikeout rate of 11.9 batters per nine innings, but his walk rate was high at 6.5 per nine.

Opponents hit just .173 against Ogle. He allowed one earned run in his last 13 innings at Indianapolis.
Gutierrez, 21, was having a solid season at Low A Clearwater, where he was hitting .288 with five homers, 32 RBIs and a .849 OPS in 50 games.
Gutierrez, from Venezuela, was initially a member of the Atlanta Braves' organization. He was one of 13 Braves prospects who became free agents after the Braves were found to have broken international signing rules from 2015-17. The Braves initially signed Gutierrez for $3.53 million. The Phillies landed him in December 2017 for $550,000.
Clearly, the Pirates coveted Gutierrez. He was part of the package that the Phils were set to send to Pittsburgh for lefty starter Tyler Anderson earlier this week. That deal fell apart when the Pirates expressed concerns over pitcher Cristian Hernandez' medical reports and Anderson ended up in Seattle.
