The Philadelphia Phillies will be in the spotlight to begin the 2023 MLB season.

For the first Sunday Night Baseball game on ESPN next spring, the defending NL champions will visit the Texas Rangers in Arlington.

ESPN announced the first few months of their SNB schedule on Monday, with the Phils also slated to appear in primetime on May 28 against the Braves in Atlanta.

The Phillies' opening series against the Rangers will be their first opportunity to compete after losing the 2022 World Series.

President of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski made some big moves to bolster the roster this offseason, notably signing star shortstop Trea Turner and starting pitcher Taijuan Walker.

With their trip to Arlington to begin the season, Philly will get a chance to see the Rangers' revamped roster. Texas signed Jacob deGrom from the New York Mets and Andrew Heaney from the Los Angeles Dodgers to solidify its rotation, which should make for an exciting first three games.
