Early Tuesday evening, the Phillies issued a brief statement on the condition of Daniel Brito, the 23-year-old minor league player who collapsed on Saturday while playing a game for the Lehigh Valley IronPigs in Rochester, New York.

“We are pleased to report that Daniel Brito is currently in stable condition. He continues to undergo medical testing with his girlfriend and his mother, who has arrived from Venezuela, by his side,” the statement said.

Brito remains hospitalized in Rochester, where he has undergone two surgeries.

The infielder has been a member of the Phillies organization since 2015.
